How an On-Grid System Works
Solar panels feed DC power into a grid-tied inverter, which converts it to AC and synchronises it with the utility supply. Your load consumes solar power first and draws from the grid only when generation falls short. Because the system stays synchronised with the grid, it carries mandatory anti-islanding protection and shuts down during a power cut, so an on-grid system lowers your bill but does not act as a backup supply.
Net Metering and DISCOM Approval
